At HEP, we’re doing all we can to protect and improve the healthcare that some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers rely on. We’re meeting with legislators across the state, running ads on TV and on the ground in Albany, and joining our partners 1199SEIU and GNYHA and nearly 20,000 healthcare workers in a rally in Albany on March 21st.
Medicaid covers only 65 cents for each dollar of care provided by healthcare institutions, thus affecting the level of care they can provide. We are calling upon Governor Hochul and our elected representatives to address the crisis of underfunding and commit to a 10% increase in the Medicaid reimbursement rate.
