Long Island Grassroots Advocates, Organizations, Unions, Elected Officials, and Community Members Gather to Celebrate 60 Years of Medicaid and Medicare
Sixty Years ago today, President Lydon B Johnson signed into law Medicaid and Medicare. Local healthcare advocates, organizations, and unions gather together at Long Island Progressive Coalition’s office at 90 Pennsylvania Ave, Massapequa, NY to celebrate sixty years of our communities having access to healthcare when they most need it through Medicaid and Medicare. Advocates will speak on how these programs have served our communities and what the future holds for Long Islanders when cuts start to take effect in 2026.
