  • New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) Emotional Support Helpline provides callers experiencing increased anxiety due to the COVID-19 emergency with free and confidential support, provided by specially trained volunteers. (844) 863-9314.  The OMH website has a range of other resources at https://omh.ny.gov/omhweb/covid-19-resources.html.
  • New York State is partnering with Headspace to provide free mindfulness, medication and mental health resources to all New Yorkers.  Visit headspace.com/ny

National

  • The Disaster Distress Helpline is administered by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration. It provides 24/7, 365-days-a-year crisis counseling and support to people experiencing emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters, including the COVID-19 emergency. Call (800) 985-5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746.
  • National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) Helpline is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing mental health information, resource referrals and support to individuals, family members and caregivers. Call 10:00 am and 6:00 pm EST 1-800-950-NAMI (6264).

  • The Child Mind Institute (www.childmind.org or 212-308-3118) offers counseling sessions by phone, among other resources
